eDNA ananlysis of the Danube River

Using 2022-2023 Danube River's eDNA data, we aim to characterize its microbial community composition ("who is there") and functional potential ("what they are doing") at a fine resolution. We investigate within-community interactions and their responses to environmental variables. Ultimately, we seek to understand the relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, providing insights for the conservation of this important riverine ecosystem under climate change.
