Due to the extreme heat wave affecting Hungary and the challenges facing the country’s electricity grid, the operators of HUN-REN Cloud have launched a voluntary energy-saving initiative.
As part of this effort, we have asked HUN-REN Cloud users to schedule their computations—particularly energy-intensive, GPU-heavy workloads—outside the critical period between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., whenever possible, during times that are less critical for the power grid.
This initiative is entirely voluntary and aims to enable the HUN-REN Cloud community to contribute to relieving the load on Hungary’s electricity grid during this extraordinary situation. HUN-REN Cloud will compensate affected users for any lost resource time resulting from voluntarily rescheduled GPU usage, if required.
