As announced in March, between July 1, 2026 (Wednesday) and July 10 (Friday), we will be performing maintenance on the GPU servers on the HUN-REN Cloud Wigner branch. As part of this maintenance, the smaller GPU flavors (g2.medium, g2.large) will be phased out for resource optimization purposes, and GPU resources will not be available during this period.
We will be able to provide the project with the same amount of GPU resources that were previously used or requested even after maintenance is complete; however, if you are using multiple smaller virtual machines, they will need to be consolidated into one or more virtual machines with greater resources. Information regarding the exact resources available for use after maintenance is complete will be available on the project dashboard at https://science-cloud.hu/.
During the migration, administrators will DELETE ALL VIRTUAL MACHINES EQUIPPED WITH GPUs! We will not back up the virtual machines. Once maintenance is complete, users will need to recreate their project virtual machines and import the necessary data.
We strongly urge you to BACK UP ALL IMPORTANT DATA, CODE, AND RESULTS from your virtual machines running in the cloud; you have until 11:59 PM on June 30, 2026, to do so.
Even if you are able to access the project during the maintenance window, please do not perform any operations on the OpenStack Dashboard until we announce that maintenance has ended!
