In addition to the voluntary energy-saving initiative, HUN-REN Cloud is introducing further measures to reduce the load on the national electricity grid.
During the period of extreme heat, we reduced the GPU capacity available in SLURM services by 50% every day between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Due to its technical limitations, we also reduced the GPU capacity of GenAI4Science by a fixed 25%. In addition, we have taken the newly acquired H200 servers offline and postponed their installation and testing to a later, cooler period. The purpose of these measures is to significantly reduce HUN-REN Cloud’s electricity consumption during this critical period.
This capacity restriction is temporary and applies only for the duration of the emergency.
