We are pleased to announce the return of the National HUN-REN Cloud Meetup for the 3rd year. The 2026 event is particularly special, as it marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of Hungary’s research cloud.
Over the past decade, HUN-REN Cloud has supported research projects across a wide range of scientific fields by providing modern, cloud-based infrastructure. To mark this milestone, we would like to look back on the achievements of the past ten years, showcase how the platform is being used today, and offer a glimpse into our plans for the future.
The primary goal of the event is to showcase the diverse use cases and achievements of HUN-REN Cloud, while also providing a forum for our users to share their knowledge and experiences with one another.
Date: 5 November 2026 (Thursday), 9:00–17:00
Venue: Data Centre of the HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics
We warmly invite anyone who is currently running, or has recently completed, a project on HUN-REN Cloud to join us as a speaker and share their experience in a short presentation.
Presentation length: 10 minutes (+5 minutes for questions and transition)
Topic: Presentation of the use of HUN-REN Cloud – results, experiences, benefits, and challenges
Suggested presentation structure:
- Project objectives and background
- Requested resources
- Design of the cloud environment and computational methods
- Data used, results obtained, and storage solutions
- Research outcomes and publications (if available)
- Future plans and new requirements
The event is planned as an in-person meeting.
