Please be advised that we will be updating the SZTAKI data center branch of HUN-REN Cloud, therefore service interruptions are expected between 8:00 a.m. on August 18, 2025 and 4:00 p.m. on August 25, 2025.
The planned schedule is as follows:
- On August 18, 2025, starting at 8:00 a.m., the Ceph storage will be updated (this is expected to take a few hours).
- Following the Ceph storage update, the OpenStack update will take place, which includes the OpenStack environment, the operating system of the servers serving the virtual machines, and the GPU drivers running on the hosts.
After updating the host GPU drivers, it is also recommended to update the drivers of the virtual machines so that the GPUs can be used without any problems. We will send information about this process to all affected users at a later date.
During the update, service availability will be interrupted and virtual machines will shut down. We will not restart the shut-down virtual machines; users will need to take care of this themselves.To avoid problems, please do not restart the virtual machines until after the notification.
Important: Updating storage is a critical task during which the integrity of stored data cannot be guaranteed. Please save important data before the update, as we cannot guarantee recovery in the event of data loss.
